Currently Pentaxim vaccine is not recommended by INDIAN ACADEMICS OF PEDIATRICS below 1 year or in primary series of 6 10 and 14 week schedule. As it contains acellular pertusis as one of the components its painless and feverless but its not as effective as pentavac because it conta wholecell pertusis which is efficacious in long term. If your child have any reaction from Pentavac then only it wise to shift from Pentavac to Pentaxim. Try to take all pentavac if possible.
