Dear Doctor, I am currently 7 weeks 4 days pregnant, have taken an USG on Jan 12th, i.e a week prior. Heart rate was 115 bpm and the CRL was 6.45 mm. Yesterday my gynaec suggested me to have HCG injection weekly once for 5 weeks and to take gestofit 300 mg OD for five weeks. Kindly enlighten me.

Hcg is needed only if your pregnancy is at risk, or your age is above 30 or you have had spotting or pain all this while, or if you have had a history of miscarriage earlier on. Taking gestanin or gestofit or susten 300 mg SR is fine as they are pregnancy support pills, HCG injections are taken also for the same reasons as above, so I suggest you take a call yourself, as ethically we do not speak against any dr, hope you respect our medical fraternity.
