My sister have a pain in head on left region. It's look like a trigeminal neuralgia because it occur in night and involves left side face and pain is server. How can I I know what is actually? Help me.

Trigeminal Neuralgia: In this condition there is sharp, shooting pain around trigeminal nerve. It can involve upper or lower part of face depending on division of nerve involved. This may not occur just at night time. It can occur in any part of day. It can be easily treated by medicines or Radiofrequency ablation of Gasserian ganglion. There can be other causes of one sided facial pain like: 1. Idiopathic facial pain 2. Cluster headache 3. Migraine. 4. Dental pain Details of pain character and pattern of occurrence are needed to reach a diagnosis. Do not worry as any of above condition can be easily managed with medication and /or intervention.
