Does we need some minimum amount of sugar in daily food intake or can it be completely deleted from our food once forever just for the sake of health benefits?

Hi Sugar is nothing but carbohydrates. By completely taking it off your diet you are just taking out the sweet part of your diet. You can manage without sugar. But you have to be ready to manage some mood swings, headaches and cravings which can pop up for a while as you had already taken it before. However at the end of all these changes it'll be really worth it and you'll feel better.

Mr. lybrate-user, Sugar which is sucrose, is not an essential food. All the carbohydrate foods or starchy foods like rice, roti (jowar, wheat, ragi, bajra) ultimately get converted to glucose in the gut. Sugar is eaten for its taste. If one totally stops taking sugar in the diet or avoids sweets completely there is absolutely no problem at all. In fact it is a very healthy habit. Thanks.

We should take slight amount of sugar. You know only in presence of sugar salt is absorbed. Even to diabetic patient in case of dehydration we give saline and glucose combination. So never delete sugar completely.
