Best time to take milk is when your stomach is not full and you are still active. Maintain a gap of 2-3 hours between your major meals and before sleep. Ideal times, between 10-12 am (2 hours after your breakfast and 2 hours before lunch) and 4-6 pm (2 hours after lunch and 2 hours before dinner). Taking milk alone helps you digest it better as milk contains proteins which require acidic medium in your stomach to digest. When taken with staples generally which rice, other grains and vegetables or fruits (which are sugars, and have shorter stay in stomach), they unnecessarily have to stay longer in stomach while milk gets digested.
