Dear Lybrate user there is less chance of pregnancy in menstrual phase. Safe period is 1st-7th day of cycle and 21st - 28th days of cycle where very less chance of fertility. As per Ayurveda science 1st -5th day of menstrual phase is not recommended because in this period coitus vitiates Vayu dosha and make physical trouble to female partner.
