Full term pregnancy is 9 months and 7 days. As per the date calculation from last menstrual period we can wait till 40-41 weeks for delivery. Considering no other problems, delivery can wait up to 40 weeks. If not artificial induction of delivery is needed that means labour pains have to be started artificially by medicine and injection. 2. 5 kg is an average baby weight so no need to worry. Trust your doctors decision as per his clinical knowledge.
