Main worry in dengue is not just platelets but dehydration. Focus on plenty of liquids especially citrus fruit juices like lime lemon etc. With respect to platelets monitor blood levels daily or alternate day depending on initial counts. If you notice any bleeding gums or dark red or black spots like dots over depended part. Consult physician. Although not proven but papaya is said to prevent platelets from dropping. No harm in eating. Take care.
