No, it is a myth. What scaling does is merely to dislodge the deposits on the tooth surface which also has to be done in a specific way (which if not followed can create scratches on the tooth surface). While removing these deposits the patient is informed that certain gaps maybe created between the teeth which was occupied by the calculus (yellowish deposit on the tooth surface). But after removing the deposits, the tooth surface gets exposed so it is possible that the patient experiences sensitivity (Settles in about a weeks time). And Tooth is fixed in bone socket it is not gonna move with the instruments.
So do not worry go for Cleaning and get your beautiful smie.
Scaling/Cleaning, if done at a proper time, that is, every six months to remove calculus (hardened food debris), the cycle of gum disease is broken & the onset of gum disease is prevented. It does not make teeth weak or brittle, infact it strengthens the gums and promotes integrity of oral tissues. So basically, the procedure is beneficial for your oral health. Do not worry, and go ahead for scaling.
Cleaning and polishishing will help you to get the deposits removed from teeth and will make you feel that gaps are formed but yes make it sure that you get your teeth cleaned at appeopriate place and proper person
No teeth cleaning and polishing does not cause weakening of teeth on the contrary makes the teeth stronger. There is a misconception. Teeth cleaning is required wen their are hardened deposits on teeth called calculus
Wen ignored the calculus replaces gum and bone the two things holding the tooth thus wen removed causes tooth to become mobile but if you do not do cleaning teeth will fall off itself and cleaning we can strengthen the gums.
Hi mah, cleaning and polishing does not weaken your teeth. Gaps are created by the debris which forms inbetween the teeth. so when we remove the debris it is seen as gaps.
