Gross description: received multiple grey brown soft tissue pieces, aggregate measuring 4.0 x 3.0 x 2.0 cm. Blocks: 03 (etp) microscopic examination: section examined shows fibromuscular and adipose tissue infiltrated by a tumor arranged in cords, tubercular and few ill-formed glands. Tumor cells have a high n/c ratio, hyperchromasia, marked nuclear pleomorphism and scant, ill-defined cytoplasm. The surrounding stroma shows desmoplasia. Few proliferating blood vessels, plump proliferating fibroblasts and scattered chronic inflammatory cells are also noted. Impression: overall features are suggestive of a metastatic adenocarcinoma. Advise: ihc for delineating the site of primary.
