The best way to increase weight is by taking a high protein, calorie dense diet along with some toning exercises. So, try increasing your calorie intake gradually. So, you can increase the intake of high protein foodstuffs like milk/buttermilk, eggs, pulses or dals, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, soyabean etc in your diet. But do it very gradually. Can also try shakes and smoothies prepared with combination of fruit and milk or yoghurt. For increasing appetite, have more of fruits like apricots and peaches. Figs and dates can also help to increase your appetite. Spices and herbs such cardamom, cinnamon and fennel can also help to stimulate your appetite. Hope this will help!

Please do a routine blood tests along with thyroid function test to rule out any thyroid abnormalities. To gain weight, its not necessary that you should eat more. Rather, timely food and regular exercise and proper sleep are the supporting factors. Your diet should include sprouted cereals and pulses that to be consumed with a pinch of salt.
