Hello doctor! I am 17 years old male. When I went for eye checkup I have got short-sightedness of power 0.5 sph and 0.25cyl in my right eye and 0.25 cyl in left eye. When I put up spectacle it causes heavy headache. And also I can see far object clearly without using spectacle .is it necessary to wear spectacle. Thank you.

For such small power. Unless you see distorted images and it interferes with reading, cyclical power can be omitted as it usually causes headache in many people. You can get a trial of specs with 0.5 sphere only in the right eye and see if it relieves headache. If you still want to you can skip it altogether. At your age it will not cause significant problems do contact me for further diagnosis and treatment if you feel necessary.
