My problem is frequent night time urination (2-3 times ). I am on a strict diet and exercise regimen and my hba1c has come down from 6.5 to 5.9 within 2 months. However this problem is not resolved .i want to know if there is a hormonal issue involved? Along with excess urination I also have thirst at night particularly if I take protein in dinner.

This is most likely due to glucose only. Glucose act as diuretic i.e. It sucks water in kidney and increase urination. Loss of water leads to increased thirst. Though I would advice to get urine r/m and rft done before further treatment do contact me for further diagnosis and treatment if you feel necessary.
