Is emergency contraception levonorgestrel effective if taken when ovulation is already over? Does it have side effects if ovulation has already finished? What are the side effects if two of these pills are taken within a week? When can I likely expect my periods after taking these pill?

The emergency contraception has no connection with ovulation. It alters the endometrium to prevent implantation should a fetus were formed. Taking two as a result has the side effect of spotting or irregular bleeding.
