Dear lybrate-user the main reasons of the formation of piles and the types of the piles would better be discussed with the surgeon but I would explain whatever is basic: piles is a problem of rectum and anal canal it is also called as hemorrhoids- when you have a longstanding constipation because of various reasons like for example prolong sitting or faulty dietary habits or less water intake or less roughage in the diet _ one gets this issues and if not treated then pain, discomfort and bleeding results, also there are two main types - external and internal, external piles are more painful with little less bleeding but internal piles cause more bleeding but no pain so if there is severe pain the problem can be tackled easily but if there is no pain but the bleeding then surgery is the only solution so in piles it is better to treat it at early before it progresses into more and more deeper.
