I am in a job which is to sit for 8 hours and I'm getting neck pain. Is it because of constant sitting.

Treatment: * Give your muscles a break - When you lie down, Make sure your head in a neutral position and that you?ve got a comfortable pillow. More rest is often the best remedy even if you just rolled out of bed. * Avoid activities such as lifting and sports that make pain worse. * Do stretching and strengthening exercises to keep your neck flexible and strong and prevent stiffness. * Avoid or change any activities that may be causing your neck pain, such as sitting for a long time at the computer or doing too much overhead work at a time. * Gently massage or rub the area to relieve pain and encourage blood flow. * Consult a physiotherapist in case of chronic pain. First of all, get an x-ray done for cervical spine ap & lateral view. Try to sit straight. Adjust your chair and table height in such a way that you don't have to bend your neck. At night, use a pillow that is just right for you (cervical pillow). Do hot fomentation. Try to move around every one hour. Avoid sitting for long hours.
