You have to wait for the pain to start till 9 month plus 7 days i. E. 40 weeks or expected date of delivery then only if pain does not start then delivery pain will be started by medicine which is induction of labor. If you wait for more time then baby's water will go down very fast and can lead to unnecessary cesarean section.

You should go for artificial pains. If your baby movement and sonography doppler are normal you can wait for 2-3 days. Beyond that waiting can lead to problems like decrease in fluid and meconium.
