To build muscle you need a variety of proteins, veggies, fruits, carbs, and healthy fats. Eating protein helps building & maintaining muscle. But it also helps fat loss: protein has a higher thermic effect than carbs/fats. Foods that could help are: whole eggs, mixed nuts, yogurt, poultry, fish, oats, veggies, fruits and water for example breakfast: eggs with veggies, orange, green tea snack: mixed nuts, pear lunch: fish, yogurt snack: cottage cheese with apple/yogurt post workout: vegetable juice, banana dinner: chicken, vegetable subji, pear pre-bed snack: cottage cheese, berries.
