My mother 75 years old prediabetes and hypertensive has been scratched on her thigh by our cat .out cat is updated on her rabies vaccine. Though my mother has been fully immunised with arv previously, she has decided to take 3 booster arv shots on recommendation of the family pharmacist. On 5th feb she took 1st arv abhayrab and tt shot. Wound has been cleaned properly with water and soap and betadine. The pharmacist asked her to take ceftum 500 antibiotic one tablet for 6 days? Should the antibiotic be given to her?
