Mr Mukesh, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease, where there are anti bodies formed against thyroxine secreting cells, resulting in deficiency of thyroxine and hypothyroidism. In this condition Iodine has no role. Treatment is to supplement thyroxine from outside as tablets.
