Hi Lybrate user, there are many reasons why your baby who is being formula fed should have loose stools after having feeds. It could be as simple as gastrocolic reflux, which is not something to worry, but it usually occurs in breast fed babies, nevertheless could happen in formula fed babies. It could be something serious like infective diarrhea or lactose intolerance. So if there is foul smelling stools, or greenish, sticky or blood stained stools it is something to worry about. So also rash surrounding the anal area is also something to worry about. Walamycin contains an antibiotic, if it is prescribed by your pediatrician, I am sure they must have examined and considered it appropriately. If you have started it over the counter, it would be recommended to have a visit with the pediatrician or at least do a stool examination to see if its really indicated.
