I was prescribed omeprazole 3 years ago as doctor thought I had stomach ulcer. Last year I was diagnosed with gallstones and still taking medication. Should I still be taking this with regards to producing less acid which is needed for bile and gallbladder.

Well both scenarios are different. Even gall stone can cause dyspepsia. Why don't you visit surgeon for gall stones for removal. Then we can take a look about it for continuation.
