I have heard that swimming makes your skin color dark and damages it. I am going to join swimming in the next month, so I wanted to ask if swimming tanes your skin then how to protect the skin from getting darker.

Avoid swimming between 10am-4pm if possible when sun rays are harsh. Use sunscreen like Photostable or Shadowz Silk or Faceguard 15 to 30 min before sun exposure in a thick layer on all sun exposed areas. Reapply after 3 hours. Wear a swimsuit that covers most of the body surface to avoid tanning.
