Sir, my grandma aged 94 years is advised sizodon md 0.5 daily by a psychiatrist in the place of qutipin 25 since she is suffering from dementia and mood disorder. We have not yet started the new medicine. Will you pl. Advise whether we can go ahead with it. Kindly help.

If your grandmother is suffering from dementia, antipsychotics have to be given with great caution. Quitipin is relatively safe but sizodon is not that safe. The prime thing is for what has she been put on all these drugs!

You may discuss what are her psychotic symptoms or her other symptoms 0.5mgs sizodon is a very smll dose, may be considering agesuch a small dose is prescribed, it will be all iofs and buts till a final evaluation is done. Best is to discuss with the psychiatrist who prescribed it.
