Hello lybrate-user. Fluconazole is only useful in certain type of fungal infections but not all. If you have resistance with that, get a vaginal swab for culture and with that we will know what type of fungal infection that is.in case, if it is some other fungi causing infection, then boric acid capsules should be used.

Dear lybrate-user, I understand yeast infection can be very troubling and prolonged at times. Many times wrong doses are prescribed for these infections which makes a patient think that it’s resistant to fluconazole. I wish to know that how have you come to a conclusion that it’s resistant to fluconazole, have you gotten a sensitivity test done of the discharge or your problem ain’t responding to the dose you got. In case of the former, we have other tablets available that we can prescribe you. In the case of the latter, for recurrent yeast infections, there is a prolonged course of treatment that many doctors fail to prescribe properly and this gives an idea to the patient that it’s resistant to fluconazole. Either way, if you are interested, I would like to talk more about your problem and then give you a prescription. Please book an appointment online with me if you want that. Hope that helps grace.

Good evening.. let me know if ur married or unmarried so the treatment varies. Main thing to prevent infection is to maintain hygiene . - Drink plenty of water and clean with a wash twice daily . - menstrual pads also should no be used for long time . Each pad not more than 6 hours. - use washed and cotton panties, cotton pads during ur periods. -Avoid using wheat creams or razors for hair removal as few ppl are sensitive to them and cause irritation and itching will start. So see which one suits you and then use it. If ur using any of them please stop. - sexually active ppl also get infections frequently as they spread from one person to another. - avoid going to public washrooms or else clean the toilet seat with a tissue or sanitizer before using. Infections are commonly spread from there. If any further queries please have a follow up with me through online consultation. Will give prescription accordingly.
