Hi. Please consult a physiotherapist or you can consult me online as if the doctor as said to replace knee then it must be osteoarthritis where you can do physiotherapy and get relieve from pain by doing exercises which will help to strengthen and make the knee joint mobile enough so that the pain is less. Pain killers will give relief temporarily but for arthritis if you don't want to go for replacement then exercises is the answer. Currently start with hot water fermentation and some gentle stretching exercises.
