I have been taking antidepressants for 8 years now. I read somewhere that antidepressants can cause damage to the heart valves, especially the chords and structure of mitral valve. My latest 2d echo shows I have mild mitral and tricuspid regurgitation. Could the antidepressants have caused it? Im trying to stop them but it's getting tough what can I do to get rid of the mild mitral and tricuspid regurgitation. Im especially worried about mitral regurgitation. Does it go away with time? What can I do in terms of treatment and medicines to get rid of mild Mr. and tr.
