My boyfriend got the flu over the weekend and tested positive for it when he went to the doctors, I was taking care of him, the next day I was throwing up the next day with chills and a fever, and a cough, the next day my upper back hurt to breath in an a bad cough, today I have a bad cough and my lower chest hurts when I cough or try to sit up, my nose is dry but runny and my eyes keep watering and my jaw has been throbbing all day. I had mono when I was a child, could it effect my immune system today and make my symptoms worse?

Some people with upper or mid-back pain feel pain when they sneeze or cough. Similarly, you may also feel upper back pain when you take a deep breath because the vertebrae (the spinal bones) in your upper back (also known as the thoracic spine) are connected to the ribs. Let's have a detailed discussion to ensure proper treatment.
