I am a 23 year old female. I have been diagnosed with pvd and lattice generation. I have visited multiple retina specialists and none of them advised for a treatment, they had asked me to watch out for symptoms related to a tear or detachment. What should I do, I am scared.

Lattice degeneration is a disease of the human eye wherein the peripheral retina becomes atrophic in a lattice pattern and may develop tears, breaks, or holes, which may further progress to retinal detachment. It is an important cause of retinal detachment in young myopic individuals. Treatment of lattice is typically prophylactic. In rare cases, the doctor performs a ?barrier? laser to ?tack down? the retina surrounding these lesions to avoid the possibility of retinal detachment. If the doctor finds a retinal tear near the lesion, a preventative laser procedure can help avoid retinal detachment complications.
