I have trouble falling asleep. It takes me at least an hour or more to fall asleep. I have tried taking melatonin and have tried other sleeping pills prescribed by my previous childhood doctor. The only thing that?s able to get me to fall asleep is pills that cause drowsiness (niquil, allergy medicine ). Once i?m asleep, if I don?t get more than 9ish hours I feel way to tired and under slept. Yesterday I slept 10 hours and still needed a nap (3 hour nap) this is normal for me. What i?m confused with is to me I can?t tell whether it sounds like insomnia or hypersomnia. If so how do I treat it? Are there any over-the- counter pills I can take for sleeping that cause drowsiness so I don?t have to take something like allergy or nasal just to sleep?
