Hi, I have a question for my friend. He's been having neck pain and headaches for many years. He is 19 years old. His headache is usually in the forehead and behind the eyes. I wanted to help him so I looked at his neck and pressed the spot where it hurt. The muscles around that painful spot were also very tense. (it was right in the middle of his neck on the left side of the cervical bone). When I pressed that area it was very painful for him and his head started hurting as well. As I kept on pressing I found that it makes a weird popping sound every time I rub or press on that area. It also felt like I was pressing on bubble wrap. I am suspecting it might be trapped air or a muscle knot? Especially when everything around it was just tension. After a while of massaging his neck, it felt better he said, and it stopped hurting. However it might come back since he has had this problem for a long time. What could this be?
