Laser treatment for refractive error lasik or getting freedom from spectacles is a great boon for people with high refractive error. The disadvantages are only a minor few like dry eyes and glare post lasik. Only those candidates who have adequate corneal thickness and pass the pre lasik eligibility test are suitable for lasik. Its a wonderful procedure if the right candidate is offered it. Post treatment you willbe having watery eyes for a day or two. You need to instill drops following lasik for 3-4 weeks. And always wear goggles if you go swimming.
