An optical disorder, senile cataract is a disorder where the lens gets thickened as age progresses and hampers vision. Reduced visual acuity, glare and myopic shift are symptoms of this disorder. Tests such as flashlight test, checking of the intraocular and ocular adnexa and slit lamp examination are conducted to diagnose the condition. Extracapsular cataract extraction, Phacoemulsification and Intracapsular cataract extraction are treatments for this disorder.
