hi if the tooth is intact and a bit deviated from occlusion and you don't want to extract then you can go for capping of the tooth and close that space ask your dentist about it but without seeing its tough to suggestÂ

Hello Read your query as you have gap in between wisdom tooth and 2nd molar see what happened if your wisdom tooth partialy erupted then periodontal flap on wisdom tooth which is causing food lodgement for this condition you have to go for extraction or you should consult oral surgeon for scaling or curretage of wisdom tooth . In home remedies you can do warm saline rinses and betadine gargle . ThanksÂ

Hello , as per your furnished details, I would recommend you get a radiograph done for the wisdom tooth and inspect whether it need or needn't be removed... If it is meant for removal, then that would be the best option and there is no question you don't want to remove it.( anyhow, wisdom teeth are useless in the mouth as they cant be used to grind food if they haven't erupted completely.) And if it has erupted already, then the treatment would be different.... Be it deep gums cleaning or a local flap surgery or even a crown sometimes on the front tooth can ward off the problem. Hope you get well soon and also a good experience in your dental appointment.Â

Hello, First and foremost please use a DENTAL FLOSS or a PROXA BRUSH instead of the toothpick to clean the area. The gap you are referring to maybe because of two reasons.Firstly it maybe a pocket formation wherein there's some space between the tooth and the adjacent gums. This can be treated by scaling and deep curettage of the said area.Secondly there may decay in either of the tooth which causes loss of tooth structure and will be perceived by you as a gap. This can be treated either by a restoration[filling] or may need a root canal treatment depending on the extent of the decay. It is very important that you maintain proper oral hygiene in either case.It would also help ease the pain to some extent.Rinse thoroughly after eating, use a mouthwash and floss regularly. These are the options to save the tooth. But in some cases, due to the position of the wisdom tooth or due to extensive tooth loss, patients are advised to get the wisdom tooth removed as your doctor has recommended. Hope this helps you out.Â

Most probably your wisdom tooth will be impacted if it so there is no work around without removing the wisdom tooth so better to remove it as your dentist suggests ,else you might end up having decay in next tooth also due to food lodging between both toothÂ

Your doc has suggested you the best treatment modality i.e. extraction of wisdom tooth. this would lead to better gum healing and prevent or treat cavity at the back of tooth ahead of it. another alternative would be to get root canals in both those teeth and have a joint 2 unit bridge that would curb the problem of food impaction but you may use thermoseal proxa interdental brush or a floss to clean that area instead of a tooth pick till you find a permanent solution. good luck!Â

Hello, Thanks for writing in this space. If you are having a problem of food impaction between your second molar and wisdom tooth then first of all you would need an X-Ray done. Depending on that the treatment would need to be planned: a) Removal of wisdom tooth as suggested by your dentist. b) thourough flossing of the area and rinsing your mouth vigourously every time you eat something. Pain usually is an indicator of the body'd wearing capacity....in lay terms it means that the body has done its best to ward of the infection and is asking help. So the best bid wouild be to start with an examination and take it from there.Â

Pls get that wisdom tooth removed as soon as possible ....because it may spoil its neighboring tooth also ....for which you will have to undergo root canal treatment ... Â

Your dentist had suggested you the best treatment part.Anyways Wisdom tooth does not have any functional usage in our cavity, just like your ear pinna.Removal of 3rd molar (wisdom tooth) will resolve your problem. For further enquiry, send me your x-ray with respect to the problematic tooth.Â
