Hello Doctors, I'm 27, suffering from Pilonidal Sinus. It happened probably 2nd time after almost 1 year. Presently there is no swelling and pain. After taking antibiotic and pain killer and regular sitz bath, the discharge happened and pus came out. But I can feel one hard object inside the natal cleft. Presently I'm having no pain. Do I still need a surgery for this? Or is there any way to avoid the surgery? PS: I have never done any surgery in past days also for this Pilonidal Sinus. Thank you,

Pilonidal Sinus can not be treated by oral medicines only. So usually surgery is advised to treat this problem. But surgery is also not a good choice for pilonidal sinus as the chances of recurrence after surgery are very high. However this problem can be completely treated by Graded Ksharsutra treatment. No hospitalization or bed rest is required in this treatment. You can continue your normal routine activities as usual during this treatment. In this treatment; a specialized medicated thread is placed in sinus tract which is replaced by a new Ksharsutra at a week or 10 days intervals till sinus heals completely.
