lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Both the levels mentioned are very high. In this situation it is essential to know the HbA1c%, which gives a clear indication of past few months glucose levels/ If that is 8.5 % or much higher, then it is better to start Insulin injections with oral antidiabetics for first 3 to 4 months. Once good control is achieved, then patient can be maintained on only oral drugs. This is the usual approach. Your doctor is the best person to decide, on how go about. Thanks.
