My anterior cruciate ligament was torn due to knee injury. Im receiving dyoser fast ointment to be kept on the knee. Doctor has advised me not rub while applying ointment. May I know y it should not be rubbed and what happens if it is rubbed while applying?

If you had a intra substance tear of the ACL, its unlikey to heal with oinments. You would be able to walk with a torn ACL but instability over a period of time cause cartilage and meniscal damage. I would ideal recommend ACL reconstruction in view of your age.
