Your grandfather condition is rather serious. Do you know if there was any event, a month ago, that might have triggered this development? That might give us a clue. I wonder why the medical fraternity cannot diagnose the problem either. So it is difficult for me to make any accurate assessment but let me try. You may have to make do certain things in order to keep him functional. It is very important that you try to keep him upright as much as possible, and do things that both body and mind are occupied with. There may be a neurological problem and a physical problem. But I am taking wild guesses from the limited information you have given. If you neglect him and let him stagnate in this condition he can only degenerate. See whatever method you can use to get him to relate to the external world: highly stimulating and provoking material needs to be used. You may provide reading material, television/video entertaining programs etc. in fact anything that distracts and attracts him. Whole body physiotherapy will certainly help him. Find a good acupuncturist there and introduce him to some of that therapy. If he is amenable to swimming, try that too. Seek some spiritual help too from a local believer?s church, whose pastor will visit home and pray over the man. Divine intervention is definitely advised where medicine is unable to neither decipher the ailment nor treat it. I sincerely hope you are amenable to this suggestion.
