I had an orthodontic extraction last Friday. After two days it started paining. Doctor said it's Dry Socket and it happened due to smoking. He gave vitamin capsules for fast healing and said to gargle in luke warm water. 3 days has past. Still I noticed no improvement or no sign of healing. How to recover from it? What kind of medicine can be applied there?

Hi. Yes it is dry socket. Do not self medicate. Visit your dentist again .He will prescribe you analgesics. A Zinc Oxide Eugenol dressing in the socket would give you relief. The dentist can also induce bleeding in the socket for healing.
