Hello, I had discoloration in my tongue for which my doctor prescribed iodine. I did not follow instructions. I gargled the iodine thinking that was the correct way to use it. Now my mouth is purple. My tongue is purple and my gums too. Am I in danger? How can I remove it? I think its gentian iodine violet solution.

You need to see your dentist as soon as possible and tell everything about your present problem. There is nothing to be worried about as the stains of iodine are temporary and will go in a couple of days.
