I am so dreadful of injections. I have heard palatal injection is really very painful. Last month my dentist said that I need to get my upper wisdom extracted. Do I need a injection on my palate for this?

Yes. You do need an injection in the palate too for extraction of upper wisdom tooth. But relax, it's not this much painful as you think. Ask the dentist to apply anesthetic gel or lignocaine spray over the area where he is going to inject. You will not come out know the feeling of prick at all. It's totally safe and not troublesome at all.
