My mother is having a cyst from 6 months on upper neck region. Not painful but something like a small swelling. But from the past 10 days it became reddish, painful and swelled a bit higher. We consulted a dermatologist, she prescribed antibiotics and ointment (she diagnosed it as INFECTED sebaceous CYST). From two days a small flesh started coming out. She has not advised any surgery. But another doctor recommended surgery. Do surgery is needed? She is taking tablets ZOCEF 500 ,PAN 40 from 6 days. Only swelling reduced but no sign of healing. Kindly advice us. Age 50 years.
