Doctor, I have a question, I know that blood donation is a good thing and it purify blood and no issue but what about platelet? My friend (male) gave his platelet to his friend who suffered for one issue ,Is it cause any side effects to him? Will the platelet count increase or not similar to blood?

Dear Lybrateuser, - The platelet count recovers on its own & doesn't go very low unless there is some disease or disorder - he should have a well balanced diet with more of fruits (have papaya), vegetables, whole grains, protein foods & healthy fats - do regular exercise & lead a healthy lifestyle the platelet count should rise on its own, can monitor it by blood test.
