GERD can be controlled and cured with help of medicines but it also requires lifestyle changes Avoid oily and very spicy foods. Oily foods even if not spicy can cause GERD Eat slightly smaller meals but more frequent so you don?t loose weight Keep a gap of at least 2-3 hours between dinner and going to bed. Continue whatever medicines have been prescribed and do not stop unless you?ve been advised to stop. Suddenly stopping medicine could again increase the GERD Ideally the medicines are stopped very gradually.
