Rtc is a procedure that saves your tooth it has nothing to do with strength of the root in fact if you have strong roots you should go for root canal. Rct is a procedure where your nerve to the tooth is treated you are getting pain is because the nerves of your tooth are exposed it can be due to deep cavity or due to erosion in teeth root canal does not mean removing of tooth but in fact it helps to save your natural tooth if not carried out few months you may have to remove the tooth as the cavity or erosion will not stop.

If the doctor has recommended for rct, you should get it done. Have you studied dentistry? doctor has studied the same subject for 5 yrs and is practicing it daily so he is definitely 1000 times more knowledgable and experienced than you. Please don't interfere in his treatment plan. Only alternative of rct is extraction. I hope you know what is the meaning of extraction.
