I am 31 year old male 134 kgs of weight. I have been told that L-carnitine supplement can aid weight loss to a good extent. I have also controlled my diet, I am consuming only 1500 calories against 2000 calories which is my BMR. However I had faced an epileptic seizure in 2015 due to viral encephalitis which was then controlled. But I am told that L-carnitine supplement has a side effect of seizures. Please can you advise me if I can take it? I am taking Lacosam 50 mg 2 times a day, so can its dosage take care of this rare side effect of L-carnitine?

Aim to have a fit body rather than focusing only on weight reduction. With proper diet and exercise routine you can achieve that. Don't take desperate measures to reduce weight as it will lead to more harm than good.
