Having a 9 mm stone in the ureter is definitely not similar to a 9 mm stone in the gall bladder. In all probability, the uretric stone will cause uretric colic pain which can be severe, it may cause blood in urine, it may cause back pressure to the kidneys, and it usually needs to be removed. Not so for a gall bladder stone of similar size.
