Calendar method tells you the safe and unsafe period for pregnancy. Count day 1 as first day of your period. So the first four to five days usually are menses its safe but due to bleeding usually better not to get intimate. The next one week is safe for getting intimate. Howvever D12 to D16/D17 are unsafe as a woman ovulates during this period. Now the last seven days before periods are again safe for interccourse or coitus. If you are married then please consult a gynaecologist for contraception advice.
