Few days back I got a bridge for front two teeth. Now when I touch one of the gum above the tooth, I get pain. And when I feel the back of the new teeth with my tongue I feel they are bumpy. Especially at the top. One is more bumpy then the other. The gum at the back of the tooth with less bump is painful when I touch slightly press it with finger. It was root canaled. Can anyone tell me the reason for the pain. thank you.

Hi, Welcome to Lybrate. The cause of the pain is because of faulty placement of the bridge, you need to get it removed and get it adopted more properly. The bumpy issue is also because of the irritation of ill placed denture (FPD), it has led to gingivitis of your gums. Hope the answer to your query.

Sad but true, your problem is because of unskilled dentist who didn't remove the discrepancies before fitting it. Your gum is inflamed now or may be sometimes it reacts with new materials. You can apply sensoform gum paint for now. If it is not resolved within a week, visit your dentist for the same.

Usually some pain is experienced after root canal treatment and crown, just wait and watch for few days, take a pain-killer if necessary and donot worry about the little bumpy part of the crown, it is normal.
