Hi treatment plan to make your teeth white goes as follows: visit the dentist, who will first do clean up of your teeth this will remove all the extrinsic stains and deposits present on the teeth & reveal the original colour of your teeth. After that if you want more brighter teeth you can undergo teeth whitening or bleaching treatment for further enhancement of shade. Your dentist will be best judge to decide whether home bleaching or in office bleaching will provide you with the desired results. You can try some commercially available whitening toothpastes after bleaching to maintain the effect for bit longer time. Whitening toothpastes can also be used without bleaching treatment for very minor yellowish discolouration but cannot give you satisfactory results in more complex situations. The colour of your teeth is an optical phenomenon. It depends on the thickness of the enamel. The inner layer of the tooth is called dentin, which is yellow in colour. If the overlying enamel is thin the colour of dentin is visible through the enamel giving the tooth yellow colour. I the enamel is thick the underlying dentin is not visible so tooth appears white. The whiteness of tooth depends on the thickness of enamel. Bleaching procedures are temporary solution. Genetic also plays a role. Usually a fair complexioned person will have yellow shade and a dark complexioned person will have white shade. Kindly consult a dentist he may restore the top yellow layer with lighter shade veneers or composite resins. If the teeth have become yellow recently it can be due to plaque attached over the teeth, a cleaning would be fine.

Go for scaling and polishing by a dentist, that is healthy and strongly advised for everyone once in 6 months. If you are still not satisfied with the outcome (that would be your natural tooth colour) you can go for bleaching thats a cosmetic procedure that makes your teeth whiter for a span of time. To maintain healthy teeth brush twice daily for 3 minutes and replace your brush every 3 months. Thanks.
